John and Elmo the dog wind down after a busy day with some Forest Bathing and Creative Writing
John and Elmo the dog go into the woods to do some sketching and relaxing
John Quinn led a Creative Walk in Chopwell Woods for our Gateshead Art Diamonds group this Summer. On arrival John immediately put everyone at ease and over the two hour workshop, the participants enjoyed forest bathing, creative writing, making fragrant sensory cocktails and drawing a sound map.
Everyone felt so much better after the session, it provided a great way to slow down, provided an opportunity to connect with nature and each other through a series of creative activities. The workshop went so well that we’ve booked a series of other Creative Walks with John in different woodland locations across the borough.
Art Diamonds is for people of retirement age and helps to improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation through creative activities, led by Gateshead Council’s Libraries, Arts & Heritage Service with support from Arts Council England and the Baring Foundation Karolynne Hart
